When Donald Trump called illegal aliens “criminals,” the mainstream media mocked him like a schoolyard bully.
To Jamiel Shaw Sr., violence perpetrated by illegals is all too real. In 2008, Shaw’s son, Jamiel Shaw Jr., a star athlete and scholar, was walking home from school wearing his Spiderman backback.
Pedro Espinoza, an illegal immigrant and member of a street gang, noticed the younger Shaw and mistook his backpack identifying him as a member of a rival gang. Espinoza opened fire on the 17-year-old, wounding him in the stomach. Espinoza then walked over to the injured youth and killed him with a bullet to the head.
The shooting took place in 2008 but the memories are still painful for the elder Shaw, who expressed his outrage to Jerome Hudson of Brietbart.
“The illegal alien gang-banger who executed my son was in jail on gun charges and was given an early release, and murdered my son the next day,” Shaw said.
Shaw Jr.’s mother is a service member who was serving in the Middle East when her son was murdered and is still serving with the U.S. Army.
Rep. Babara Lee (D-CA) invited Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza to be Lee’s guest at President Obama’s final State of the Union address Tuesday. Recognizing that his tragedy doesn’t fit the pro-amnesty agenda of the Democrats and President Obama, Shaw said he knows why he would not have been considered to be invited to the speech.
“I’m not surprised Rep. Barbara Lee didn’t call and invite me and my family to the State of the Union,” Shaw Sr., said. “I’m not surprised President Obama didn’t call me and invite me and my family. My son was murdered by an illegal from Mexico. Jamiel’s story doesn’t fit in with their agenda.”
According to Shaw Sr., one politician has reached out to his family. “Mr. Trump was the only presidential candidate who reached out to me and my family,” Shaw said. “He is the only presidential candidate who mentions my son and the names of the all-too-many Americans murdered by illegal aliens.”
“I continue to stand with Donald Trump,” Shaw added. “I believe Mr. Trump is going to do the right thing. He’s going to fix what’s broke. And we’re going to make America great again.”
Instead of deporting gang members like Espinoza, President Obama has been promoting a de facto amnesty program with the introduction of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program which allowed for children up to the age of 16 to be immune from deportation and be given work visas. Likewise, in June of 2012, the Obama administration announced that it would not seek to deport most young illegal immigrants.
In contrast to Obama’s policies, Trump has promised to mobilize a deportation force to remove 11 million illegal immigrants from the U.S.
